Our 12-Pounder Pack Howitzer being fired on the Morehead City, NC waterfront. This howitzer is a full bore size replica machined from solid ordnance grade steel making it twice the strength of the original model of 1841. (Dimensions: Barrel 8” shaft stock diameter, 38” length, 195 lbs.; Field Carriage 42” width, 6’ overall length, 360 lbs. approximate weight including barrel). The replica is balanced, recoils 12 – 20 feet straight back, and has been high-pressure tested per the U.S. government Ordnance Manual of 1861. The carriage is all steel for light weight.
